Jessie Kay Band to Open for Jackson Dean at Southern Tier Music Festival

The Jessie Kay Band is thrilled to announce that we’ll be opening for national recording artist Jackson Dean at the Southern Tier Music Festival, taking place July 4th, 2026, in Sidney, New York.

Known as a female-fronted powerhouse country band, The Jessie Kay Band is proud to be part of a festival that has become a true cornerstone of the Upstate New York music scene. The Southern Tier Music Festival continues to grow each year, bringing together top-tier national acts and standout regional artists for a full day of live country music, community, and celebration.

This year’s festival will be headlined by Jackson Dean, who has quickly made his mark on country radio with chart-topping singles including “Don’t Come Lookin’” and “Heavens to Betsy.” Dean’s gritty vocals, raw storytelling, and high-energy performances have earned him a dedicated fanbase and solidified his place as one of country music’s rising stars.

Joining the lineup alongside Jessie Kay Band are an impressive group of artists, including Matt Roman, Rylee Lum Band, The Bennett Hall Band, and The Matt Beadle Experience, making this a diverse and dynamic bill that showcases both regional talent and national recognition.

The Southern Tier Music Festival has previously hosted major country acts such as Maddie & Tae, Nate Smith, and Uncle Kracker, further cementing its reputation as a must-attend summer event in Upstate New York. Being included on a lineup with this legacy is an honor, and we’re grateful to be part of a festival that continues to support live music and growing artists.

The 2026 Southern Tier Music Festival is shaping up to be one of the biggest events yet, with an incredible lineup and full day of live country music.

Jessie Kay Hits the Studio

The Jessie Kay Band recently headed to Big Blue North Recording Studio in Utica, NY, to record their newest single, “That Damn Girl”, written by acclaimed songwriter Rich Massuci.

Joining Jessie Kay on this milestone session were her bandmates — Cal LaClair on guitar, Mark Circelli on bass, and Brandon Baldwin on drums — along with renowned fiddle and violin player Liz Ingersoll, adding her signature touch to the track. They are also joined by Jayden Cooley to help round out duties on guitar.

This session marks a significant first for the band: it’s the first time the Jessie Kay Band has recorded together as a full group. The recording was overseen by Big Blue North owner Jeff Aderman, who handled the mixing duties, ensuring every note and nuance was captured perfectly.

“Jeff and his wife Pam are absolutely fantastic to work with,” said lead vocalist Jessie Kay. Guitarist Cal LaClair added, “The studio is absolutely state-of-the-art, and it’s always amazing working with Jeff and Pam. They really know their stuff.”

Jessie also praised the song itself: “Rich really hit it out of the park writing this song. I can’t wait to hear the finished product!”

Fans can look forward to “That Damn Girl” hitting all major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, later this month. With the Jessie Kay Band finally bringing their full lineup into the studio, this release promises to showcase the energy, passion, and musical chemistry that is making a buzz in the Upstate New York country scene.

Stay tuned — this is one recording you won’t want to miss!
